Your Freedom Through Forgiving

“Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.” -Colossians 3:13

Today’s Word:
My child I will give you grace and help from heaven to bear the burdens which I have appointed for you to bear. But understand this, there are some burdens that I will not help you to bear. One of those burdens is the weight of not forgiving. Bitterness and holding a grudge is like a great rock when it is carried in the heart of my children.

Even so, I would call you to consider any strain of bitterness, resentment, anger, violence, back-biting for all these things grow in the garden of an unforgiving heart. And I would remind you now, that forgiving others who have wronged you is not natural but it is supernatural. For the natural way is always to take revenge; and the garden of hatred flourishes under the storm clouds of revenge. However, this is not the way of My kingdom. For even as it is written, ‘do not take revenge, my friends, but leave room for God’s wrath,’ so I tell you that I will take care of everything which you entrust to Me.

Have you suffered injustice? Betrayal? Disappointment? Abandonment? Place all these things, one by one, in the light of My Presence. Place all of the details, the pain, the anger, the regret, the fear, before Me. For I am the Wonderful Counselor and I have counsel that will bring you release, a way of escape, and a new day of freedom. I have healing and I am able to free you from the load of sadness and even enable you to do the impossible… to forgive and to entrust the injustice to My care. For wrongs suffered is a burden that only I can bear and I am asking you now, to come to Me and receive the embrace of My help.

Scripture:
Romans 12:19 “Do not take revenge, my friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,” says the Lord.”

Matthew 18:21-22 “Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, “Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother when he sins against me? Up to seven times?” Jesus answered, “I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times.”

Ephesians 4:31 “Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice.”

Luke 6:35 “But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them without expecting to get anything back. Then your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High, because he is kind to the ungrateful and wicked.
