Guard Your Heart

“Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has gone through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess. For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are–yet was without sin. Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.” -Hebrews 4:14-16

Today’s Word:
My child, think about this verse, ‘Above all else, guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life’. Be aware that when you are discouraged, fatigued, angered, or under strain then you will be more vulnerable to temptation. This is why I’ve told you, ‘above all else, guard your heart.’ And when you are tempted, prepare your feet to do one thing, and one thing only, and that is to FLEE.
Yes, move quickly in the opposite direction. For as it is written, ‘No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it.’
Look to Me for the way out. Lift up your voice to Me and I will pluck your feet out of the snare. In this way you will keep yourself under the shadow of My wings, and continue to walk a path that will be freely blessed and a strong witness to many of My liberating power. Think about these things, and draw near to Me.
Scripture:
Proverbs 4:23 “Above all else, guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life.”
2 Timothy 2:22 “Flee the evil desires of youth, and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, along with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart.”
1 Corinthians 13:13 “And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.”
