This Week At Crossroads I 2.2.23

A PLACE FOR EVERYONE
In this series we're unpacking what it means to be the selfless covenanted people of God.  It doesn't matter who you are, what you believe, or what you've done,”there's a place for you at Crossroads Church. This week we'll talk about the church not as a building, but a movement of generous people following a loving God and serving each other. Following worship we invite you to stay for our tailgate party and discover the real winner of our Generosity Bowl.

SCRIPTURE TEXTS
Acts 2:42-47
Ephesians 5:25, 29
Malachi 3:10

TAILGATE PARTY AFTER CHURCH

It's coming down to the wire.  The 4th quarter.  The game is one the line.  Will you take the risk and go for the long bomb or hand off the run to win the game?  Whatever you decide, you're a winner.  Crossroads is a winner.  Stay after church for the victory celebration tailgate party.

    FORM MEET UP
    SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 5th @ 6:00PM
    ASU MINISTRY HOUSE

FORM is a community of Christian young adults from across the East Valley. Most of us belong to churches with no specific focus on young adults. We gather together to create a discipleship community specifically for young adults to find each other and walk together along our discipleship journey to follow Jesus.

We are not a church. We are a young adult ministry that complements the local church by creating a discipleship environment for young adults to lead in, grow in, and minister to each other in.  If you are a young adult between the ages of 18-30-something this group is for you. Contact Pastor Charles for details.

    LIFE TOGETHER
    Starts Feb. 6th at 10:00AM
    Facilitator: Pastor Charles Newman
Jesus had intimate friendship with His Father and close friends like the disciples Peter, James, and John. In Life Together, we explore intimacy with God by knowing God’s story and how you are a part of it as His image bearer.  Seek spiritual friendships where you can grow in being completely known. Spiritual friendships are formed as we study God's word in community and remain open to connect with others at a deeper level.

Topic Starter: "Religious Trauma: It's More Than Church Hurt."   What is religious trauma? Religious trauma occurs when a person's religious experience is stressful, degrading, dangerous, abusive, or damaging. Traumatic religious experiences may harm or threaten to harm someone's physical, emotional, mental, sexual, or spiritual health and safety.

    MISSIONAL COMMUNITIES

    FAITH IN ACTION
Pastor Charles, Rachel Evans and Heidi Miller joined with 100+ lutherans from across Arizona to talk to legislators about HB221 and HB2142.  Both bills address hunger related issues.  Our Crossroads team had a one on one meeting with Rep. Neal Carter from our district.  We learned that HB221 came up for a vote and passed unanimously! Advocacy matters.  If you would like to be part of the Lutheran Advocacy Ministry of Arizona (LAMA) or would like more information, contact Pastor Charles Newman or Rachel Evans.
