A Beautiful Life
This passage shows us the beauty of a life modeled after Jesus. Human edicts and false religious practices have made Christianity look more like a checklist than a lifestyle. Unbiblical religious practices and attitudes have always pushed people far away from the foot of the cross. But the kind of life Paul described here is full of what people crave—love, goodness, devotion, honor, joy, hope, and hospitality.
Scripture shows us that God is concerned with how we treat others because it reveals our heart’s condition and our character. And God calls us to be like Him, because being like Him enhances the quality of our lives.
If you want to follow Jesus, look at the words above and ask yourself, “Does my life look like this? How does the way I treat others reveal who I am?” This scripture and the life of Jesus show us that our lives matter when we give everything to serve others and to know Him.
