I Don’t Know What to Do Next

I Don’t Know What to Do Next Feeling stuck in an impossible situation? In 2 Samuel 10, Joab, the leader of Israel’s army, finds himself stuck between two opposing armies. There doesn’t seem to be an easy or clear way out. Sometimes life feels that way; we find ourselves trapped between hardships and look around and wonder how we could possibly make it out alive. Sometimes there isn’t an easy and clear solution; just a bunch of “meh” options and seemingly no assurance that it’ll work out in the end. So what does Joab do? He works with the options he has and makes a plan. More than that, he says he believes that, whatever God does with that plan, will be good. And then he moves forward with faith.

Been on the Scale Today? 🫣🤭

Been on the Scale Today? 🫣🤭 Have you ever stepped on the scale and thought, "Oh... I wasn't expecting that!" We all know the feeling—numbers carry weight. They reveal something we might rather not see… But let me ask you an honest question today: What would happen if God put you on the scale? The Bible tells us about a moment when that's exactly what happened. In Daniel 5, we read: "You have been weighed on the scales..." 😲 And then it continues: "...and found wanting." 😮‍💨 (Daniel 5:27) In everyday life, we'd usually rather hear that we're too light than too heavy. But that's not what God means here. He spoke these words to a king who seemed to have everything on the outside—power, wealth, and influence. 👉🏻 But with God, it's not about what we have—it's about who we are. Now let's make this personal. What actually carries weight with God? It’s not the number on your bathroom scale. Not your success, reputation, or possessions. What matters to Him are the things that often go unseen: 🧡 Honesty (see Psalm 51:8) 🧡 Humility (see James 4:6) 🧡 Faithfulness in the little things (see Luke 16:10) 🧡 Love (see 1 Corinthians 13:8) 🧡 A pure heart before God (see 1 Samuel 16:7) Maybe today, as you picture yourself standing on God's scale, you realize, "I've gotten out of balance. I used to be more humble..." Or, "I'm finding it hard to love others right now." If that's you, come back to the One who doesn't condemn you because of what the scale says. Instead, He wants to help you become the person He created you to be. And unlike any earthly weight, this is the kind of weight that will never weigh you down. You are a miracle! Déborah Rosenkranz
