Suffering? May God Meet You!

Suffering is a part of this life. It happens in a broken world that is not fully reconciled to God. It happens to believers, and it happens to non-believers. It happens physically through sickness and injury, it happens mentally and it happens emotionally through abuse, belief of lies, loss and grief.

Are you suffering today? I want to say something encouraging in a time that can be very discouraging. Every piece of suffering that is dedicated to God becomes a thing of beauty that the Lord will transform into a jewel. When this happens, that piece of suffering in your life will add a great value to you, actually purchasing power through God’s presence. Because He not only beautifies the wounds of the afflicted but He redeems. And when He redeems there is a beauty that emerges and you will discover a strength of compassion you never possessed before.

I just want to read a few verses. You might not be in a season of suffering but it eventually comes for all of us. So if you are suffering, may the God of all comfort minister to you right now.

-“Praise be to God and the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort that we ourselves have received from God.” (2 Corinthians 1:3)

-“And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love Him and to those who are called according to His purpose.” (Romans 8:28)

-“Hear Oh Lord and be gracious to me. Oh God be my helper! Thou hast turned from me my mourning into dancing, Thou hast loosed my sackcloth and girded me with gladness that my soul will sing praise to Thee and not be silent. Oh Lord, my God, I will give thanks to Thee forever.” (Psalm 30)
