Man of Sorrows

Intro:
Jesus is the Man of Sorrows. He fully identified with our sufferings. He wept, He was rejected, He was separated from the Father. His sorrow harvested the greatest victory ever known. Review these Bible verses.
Prayer:
Dear Jesus, You are the Man of Sorrows. When You walked the earth, You felt compassion and You wept. I know Your heart still breaks today over the many victims of injustice. Lord, help me to enter into Your sorrows more. Even as Your word speaks about the widow, the orphan, the oppressed, I want my life to be an expression of Your love to them. Let me bear Your burden in prayer, and weep the tears You would weep.
Enlarge my heart and pour Your love in, so I can be a vessel of Your compassion. I make myself available to ‘sow in tears’ that I might ‘reap with joyful shouting.’ Jesus, I love You. I ask that You would quicken me to Your sorrows, so I can bring comfort to Your heart, by serving in the secret place of prayer.
Scripture:
Isaiah 53:3 “He was despised and forsaken of men, a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief; And like one from whom men hide their face, He was despised, and we did not esteem Him.”
Isaiah 63:9 “In all their affliction He was afflicted, And the angel of His presence saved them; In His love and in His mercy He redeemed them; And He lifted them and carried them all the days of old.”
Isaiah 53:4 “Surely our griefs He Himself bore, And our sorrows He carried; Yet we ourselves esteemed Him stricken, Smitten of God, and afflicted.”
Luke 22:44 “And being in agony He was praying very fervently; and His sweat became like drops of blood, falling down upon the ground.”
Hebrew 13:12-13 ” Therefore Jesus also, that He might sanctify the people through His own blood, suffered outside the gate. Hence, let us go out to Him outside the camp, bearing His reproach.”
