Now about the gifts of the Spirit, brothers and sisters, I do not want you to be uninformed.
Today’s commentary
by Dave Whitehead, Author of Making Sense of the Bible Some Christians are so nervous about spiritual gifts that they don’t want to talk about them. Others make spiritual gifts the main thing that they talk about. The apostle Paul tells us plainly that he wants us to understand spiritual gifts, but as we read the passage, we find that people can get their identity from spiritual gifts instead of Jesus! (Just look at 1 Corinthians 13) May we be able to graciously receive the spiritual gifts God has for us without making those gifts an end in themselves. |
