We often think of freedom as the ability to do whatever we want to do, but that is not the case. True freedom is the ability to do what we were created to do, which is fully expressed in a relationship with Jesus Christ. Just as a ship outside of water is not free, we are not truly free outside of God’s guidance. Though God’s freedom may seem restrictive at first, it guides us to an place of great liberty. On the other hand, throwing off the guidance of God may seem liberating at first, but we quickly wind up in a place of great restrictions due to our sin.
