Confidence: A Devotional from Sanctus Real - Day 3

Have you been here long?
Standing alone in this desert, feeling like nobody understands you, your feelings, or your pain?
How did you get here? How do you get out?
I’m asking because I want to help you break free! I want to point out that you have a Creator who does love you, who has provided a path out of your wilderness. It probably isn't going to be easy, it’s going to take some work, and it will definitely take your faith to a new level. Just don’t lose hope! He who has begun a good work in you is faithful to complete it! We’re human, and all humans, are going to find themselves in a desert, or a wilderness, or a storm, or feel lost at sea. But our Creator has made a way for you!
Jesus went through a literal wilderness to prepare Himself for the great task that was set before Him. Forty days He went without food and shelter, forty days without friends or relationships, forty days dealing with temptation and false promises; yet He never lost hope in His purpose because He understood that the wilderness was preparing Him for His future – a future in which He was going to have to say, "not my will, but Your will be done."
Christianity isn't a pursuit of your destiny, it is a pursuit of being like Jesus! So don’t despair when you find yourself in this place of hardship. Learn from it, grow from it. Put your confidence in the Creator of both the valleys and the mountaintops.
Moses died in the wilderness. He died staring into the land promised to the Israelites. He died looking at the future of his people. His purpose was accomplished, his work was done. He led the Israelites into the wilderness, but Joshua led them out.
Was Moses a failure? Of Course not. He fulfilled his purpose and went down in history as a man of great faith and hope. This is your calling too! To be a willing vessel, not to lead, but to serve!
This is our purpose! To share God's love in both the pleasant places and the harsh, barren landscapes. Have Confidence that your Creator will carry you through this wilderness so that you can help others out of theirs!
