Jude 1:24-25 – To him who is able to keep you from falling

To him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you before his glorious presence without fault and with great joy— to the only God our Savior be glory, majesty, power and authority, through Jesus Christ our Lord, before all ages, now and forevermore! Amen. – Jude 1:24-25 (NIV)

Jude was onto a profound truth. He was confident that we would be presented before God on that final day without fault and with great joy. How could this happen? God took that responsibility by coming to our aid in Jesus Christ. To try to do this ourselves is overwhelming, because who can stand before a perfect God? But the Lord before all ages has come to save us and keep us from falling. This is not based upon our willpower, but upon God’s faithfulness to His children. This gives the glory to Jesus and creates a grateful people who are the recipients of the greatest gift of all – God Himself.
