Why Not Worry?

Why Not Worry?
Corrie ten Boom said, “Worry does not empty tomorrow of its sorrows, it empties today of its strengths.”
Your worry doesn’t give you more strength, but actually drains you. It doesn’t help you move faster, or get more done. Jesus said this amazing thing, “Who of you, by worrying can add one single hour to his life?” (Luke 12:25)
Today’s Word:
What do we do when we are tempted to worry? Here are three things that the Bible gives us to do.
1. “Cast all your anxiety on Him because he cares for you.” (1 Peter 5:7) This basically means: pray!
2. “I call to the Lord who is worthy of praise and I am saved from my enemies.” (Psalm 18:3) Praise: it changes your posture, lifts your chin, and it shifts your outlook.
3. “In everything give thanks, for this is Gods will for you in Christ Jesus.” (1 Thessalonians 5:18) Make time to give thanks!
If you are in a place right now of being tempted towards worry and anxiety, stop, pray, praise and give thanks. You WILL get results.
Scripture:
“Seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” -Matthew 6:33
“Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father has been pleased to give you the kingdom.” -Luke 12:32
