This Week @ Crossroads I 8.25.22

MEET GOD

CLEAN BREAK
In this four-week series we will explore some misunderstandings of our perceptions of God/faith/Jesus and challenge ourselves to break the bad thinking before it breaks us.  We will consider commonly used phrases or assumptions that are not only not in scripture, but that actually turn people away from a welcome Relationship with Jesus Christ.  God cannot be manipulated; therefore, we give because we are generous people, not to gain prosperity.

This Week's Scripture:
Matthew 9:1-13, 11:28

Huddle/Study Questions:
  1. Is it logical to assume that our churches are perfect?
  2. Tell about a time when you have been utterly exhausted. What helped you recover?
  3. What does it mean to you that Jesus offers to carry our burdens for us?
  4. Why do we hesitate to carry our heaviness ourselves? Why do we assume people must be perfect or that churches are perfect?
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
You're invited to our All Church gathering on September 7th.  This monthly online gatherings are vital to our mission, to equipping you as a Crossroads disciple of Jesus and to maintaining unity within our growing community. • Celebrate stories of God at work
  • Connect with other people and leaders at Crossroads
  • Contribute to the pastoral vision for our journey ahead
  • Spiritual focus and investment
Prayer is essential to our spiritual growth.  We also encourage others by prayer for their needs.  If you have a prayer request, submit here.  Our prayer ministry meets on Sunday before worship service and online.  If you would like to serve in our prayer ministry CONNECT HERE.

BAPTISM AT CROSSROADS

Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father nd the Song and the Holy Spirit. -Matthew 28:19

We believe the sacrament of baptism is a beautiful life-changing event. In baptism, we trust that God is active in cleansing us from our sin, we are claimed as children of God and we receive the free gift of God’s grace.  Whether as an infant or an adult, we trust that in baptism, we are joined to the life, death and resurrection of Jesus!  Contact Pastor Charles Newman to discuss getting you or someone you know baptized.
