Throughout Scripture there are signs that point to Jesus as the Christ. In preparation for Christmas, this Advent series will explore the meaning behind such signs that announce the birth of the Christ. This week we'll focus on the virgin birth of Jesus Christ. This is an important doctrine of the Christian church, and belief in it is essential for Christians. The presence of Jesus within the womb shows us the preciousness of life within it.
Luke 1:26–38 and Isaiah 7:14
What is one thing that stood out to you from this week’s message?
Do you belief in the virgin birth? Why or why not?
The virgin birth is important to the Christian faith. In what ways could disbelief in the virgin birth affect how you view Jesus?
The virgin birth is a supernatural event. What does that mean?
If we are skeptical of other claims of virgin births, why should we believe Mary’s?
How does Jesus’s presence in the womb connect us to the preciousness of life within it? How could you serve pregnant women in need in your community?
