This Week at Crossroads I 04.20.23

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
Stuff vs. Simplicity
We have a tendency to be so over stimulated with stuff and material things that we become immune to it. There is health in stepping away and finding contentment as a habit. Developing a habit of gratitude and thankfulness makes our hearts healthy and strong.  This week we'll explore contentment and developing habit of gratitude.

SCRIPTURE TEXTS
Philippians 4:11-13
Matthew 6:25-27
1 Peter 5:7

HUDDLE/DISCUSSION QUESTIONS

  1.  What is one thing that stood out to you from this week’s message?
  2. How is the habit of accumulating more normalized in our culture?  How does the Bible push back on that normalization?
  3. How would you describe what it means to “seek the Kingdom of God”? What other “kingdoms” do people tend to seek habitually?
  4. What is one practical way to make a habit of simple living?

MEET FRIENDS
PRAYER MINISTRY AT CROSSROADS
Prayer is essential as to what shapes Crossroads.  We would love to have you join us in one of our rhythms of corporate prayer!  We meet from 2:00-2:30 every other Wednesday online. Together, we get a sense of how God is speaking to his people and how we’re responding to his Word. This includes a time of intercession and preparation for the Sunday gathering.  To join the prayer ministry or request prayers contact:

CONFIRMATION MINISTRY I APRIL 20 @ 6:30PM
What do you believe about God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit? The Apostle's Creed is the best-known creed of the Christian Church. This creed is a summary of what the early church believed and taught. Students in 6th - 12th grade are eligible to join Pastor Charles and the other Confirmands as we drill down on the Apostle's Creed and compare it to the beliefs we hold today as Crossroads Church and as individuals. For more information, contact Pastor Charles.

That's how many people said they would accept a personal invitation to attend church if a friend invited them!

This is the perfect time to invite your friends, neighbors, and coworkers to join you at Crossroads.

We know that asking others to come to church with you can feel daunting, so here are a few tips to help make feel it less awkward:

1. Talk about non-church things

People want to know you care about them, not their church-attending status! Ask them about their family, hobbies, etc. Invest in the relationship so that they know you care.

2. Make it personal

While sharing posts on social media can be very helpful, nothing will have the same impact as a personal, face-to-face invitation! Let them know the service times, and ask if/when they'd like to join you!

3. Use Social Media!

If who you’re inviting is on the fence or a little forgetful, give them an invitation card. Send them this new series INVITE from our Facebook page or simply create one of your own.
