Some of us are familiar with paper-based concordances that give a list—including references—of most occurrences of a word in the biblical text.
The Concordance Tool in Logos does this—and much more.
In addition to finding basic words, it can also show where particular lemmas, roots, senses, biblical entities, cross-references, and citations appear.
And you can refine the search criteria to show, for example, occurrences of a plural, nominative verb or all cities in the Bible even when they’re not mentioned by name.
The concordance doesn’t just provide this functionality for Bibles. It can also be used on any book in your library. For books, the range of filter types is reduced—typically including the words in the body of the book, biblical references, and works cited. This can help you see, for example, which works are referenced in a book you’re studying.
Note: The first time you use the Concordance Tool on a particular book, the Tool builds a cached index of the book, which can take a few minutes depending on its length.
