This Week At Crossroads

Pastor's Corner Congregations focused on survival invariably operate from a scarcity mindset. They often look at what they think they are missing to be a “successful” congregation and focus time and energy there. This often does not work. Congregations focused on thriving in ministry are already rooted in God’s abundance. They look at the gifts and passions of the members of the congregation as well as their existing resources and build ministry opportunities around these. Congregations embracing a spirit of Church Becoming learn to celebrate the gifts that are already present, realizing they are sufficient to be Christ’s Church here and now. God’s abundance is trustworthy. The spirit and attitude of such congregations reflect gratitude for all that is, rather than anxiety and worry about what isn’t. Scripture reminds us that God’s abundance is rooted in God’s promise to provide what is needed. This is why we pray as Jesus taught us: give us today our daily bread. Join us for service following at 7pm. On the 2nd Sunday of the month, we will have intergenerational confirmation after worship to have discussions, ask questions, and have fun about different topics about faith, church, and life! AGENDA HIGHLIGHT Welcome and Introduction: We'll start with a prayer and welcome, introducing the theme and recognizing the presence of our synod staff and council. Bishop Election Committee Presentation: This crucial session will provide insights into the bishop election process, followed by an interactive Q&A session. Bible Study: Centered on John 1:14, we'll explore what it means to embody God's Word in our lives. After a brief introduction, we'll break into small groups for a more intimate discussion, later sharing our insights with the larger group. Sharing Good News: Hear inspiring stories from various ministries within our conference, showcasing how they are living out the Gospel. Mingling and Refreshments: A perfect time to connect, discuss, and enjoy light refreshments. You can order and on your Church App. If you need help, see Michelle. Women of Grace is a service outreach of Crossroads Lutheran Church. We meet every Tuesday from 10am-1:30pm at The Station Coffee Co in Florence, AZ. We begin with a time of fellowship time and a short devotion. Then we get busy making quilts for the Hope Women’s Center in Coolidge, AZ, and for the Grace Lutheran Church in Phoenix, AZ. In addition to the quilts, we also make sleeping mats for the homeless made from recycled plastic grocery bags. We also serve lunch to 30-40 women on the 3rd Tuesday of every month at the Hope Women’s Center.    We welcome anyone to come and join us for all or part of our Wednesday gatherings. We always say that if you can tie your shoes or use scissors, we can put you to work!!!If   We appreciate any donation of used denim jeans of any color or khaki pants to use for quilts. Also cotton or flannel sheets for the backs of the quilts. Stains and rips don’t matter, either! Questions? We are inviting you to Spring Clean your house and donate any items that can be sold to the church. All proceeds will be going the Crossroads Lutheran Church and the ministries we are doing.
