Desperate Situation in Sudan

Millions of people have fled violent conflict between the government and militias in the northern part of Sudan

People Are Starving in Sudan

Dear ‌Friend,

While much of the world has been focused on wars in Ukraine and the Middle East, there's been another tragedy unfolding in East Africa. Armed conflict between Sudan's government forces, a powerful paramilitary group, and others have torn apart the nation yet again. Millions of people have fled the capital, Khartoum, with nothing more than the clothes on their backs.

Many of them are now in Kordofan, a remote region where God has granted Samaritan's Purse unique access. Hundreds of thousands of war-weary people are living in crude shelters made from no more than mere sticks. Starving people are boiling leaves and foraging weeds and seeds just to survive.

Samaritan’s Purse is rushing truckloads of food—including corn, oil, beans, and salt, as well as a specially formulated peanut paste for young children. We have to act quickly because the rainy season is approaching and will soon make the roads impassable.

Sudan needs our prayers. Thank you for remembering these people who seem to be forgotten by the world, but not by our heavenly Father. As David says in the Psalms: "I am poor and needy; yet the Lord thinks upon me" (40:17).

May God bless you.

Sincerely,

Franklin Graham
President, Samaritan's Purse
