Peter, ignore it at your peril

Don’t Ignore This Warning!

Anyone who drives a modern vehicle knows the “Check Engine” light.

There’s no warning. It just goes on, and stays on until a detected problem is addressed. Thankfully, it’s not an alert that your vehicle will die in 60 seconds, leaving you stranded who knows where.

The “Check Engine” light shouldn’t be ignored, though. Its illumination signals an issue that, if left unresolved, could have damaging consequences. Best to act sooner, not later.

We humans have a similar, built-in warning system. God has ways of nudging us, to let us know when we deviate from His path. There’s no dashboard warning light, though. We have to be cognizant of signals and quiet messages.

I’ve made no secret of my mental health challenges. For roughly two decades, I struggled with anxiety and depression. Twice I contemplated suicide. If not for my very alert mother, one might have been successful.

The past five years have been much better, thanks to personal changes and some very caring outside professionals. Still, one is never “cured” of these challenges. It’s constant “in recovery” mode, like many other mental or emotional ailments.

The past few months have been highly stressful. We restructured the C-Suite for Christ ministry. I’ve traveled extensively, planting new chapters and giving keynotes.

Financially, the organization went out on a limb. Significant resources were put into areas that, frankly, are not guaranteed to pan out. With God’s blessing and fingers crossed, we trust and hope.

The accumulated mental load is heavy. I’ve started to see a dim light … which I’m pretty sure reads “Check Engine.”

Like father, like son?

Well, my oldest son, Kennedy, 12, has suffered setbacks recently. He started a new school. He didn’t play as much as hoped in football. Some behavioral issues emerged, too.

I’ve always been close to Kennedy. I was largely a stay-at-home father the first year of his life. When he’s feeling something, I do too. And, when his “Check Engine” light comes on, I quickly notice.

It was time for a father-son weekend. Not a Dudes Weekend, which also includes my younger son Hudson, 10.

No, just Kennedy and me.

We escaped for three days to La Crosse, Wis. Chilling out, swimming in the hotel pool, seeing a movie, visiting restaurants – this break from reality was just what the doctor (mechanic?) ordered.

The stress of everyday life vanished.

We both returned refreshed, and better aligned mentally and spiritually. The metaphorical “Check Engine” lights were gone.

The issue(s), whatever it was, had thankfully been fixed before all broke down.

The upshot?

If you feel “off” in life, pay attention. Stop whatever you’re doing. Something’s not right. Someone, somehow, is alerting you for your own good.

Deal with it.

Do so today, and you won’t have regrets tomorrow.

Enjoy Demi-Leigh Tebow’s Passionate, Inspiring Thoughts!

If you think leading an international ministry is just about getting on stage and encouraging others to follow Christ … well, think again!

The administrative work never ends. Every day brings more decisions to be made. The pressure and stress can feel overwhelming.

Given that the “business” serves Christ, too, I feel like it’s held to a higher standard. As C-Suite for Christ grows, so too does the need to set loftier goals!

The concurrent blessing – and it’s a big one – is getting to meet people on fire for Jesus. These Christ-centric souls make it all worthwhile.

Some you might have heard of: Kevin Sorbo, Tim Tebow, Mike Huckabee, Danny Gokey and more. Others are just ordinary folks like you and me, doing their best (like us) to cover the world in Christ.

I love talking to all. They inspire to no end. Every time my spiritual gas tank runs low, God sends another pumped-up disciple to refill it.

Demi-Leigh Tebow was just the latest to remind me who we could be. She, of course, was keynote speaker at C-Suite for Christ’s Fall 2024 Savior Summit.

I had the honor to interview her (video below) prior to her taking the stage. Her passion, charisma and love for the Lord were overwhelming. Watch the video, consider her thoughts, and see if you don’t feel the same!

While you’re at it, please subscribe to the C-Suite for Christ YouTube channel.

New content is added regularly. You can hear featured speakers, C-Suite for Christ members, and much in between.

It’s all part of our mission to “Cover the World in Christ” … and we’re thankful that so many (such as Demi-Leigh Tebow) are joining us!

A Relationship That’s Worth a Listen

The relationship between C-Suite for Christ and iHeart Media just keeps growing stronger!

For those who don’t know, iHeart Media is the biggest audio company in the U.S. Its broadcast and streaming services reach nine out of 10 Americans every month – a staggering impact!

I’ve had a weekly radio show on WISN-AM 1130, an iHeart Media station in Milwaukee, Wis., for three years.

Covering the World in Christ with Paul M. Neuberger is the station’s top-rated weekend program. We aim to meet people where they’re at, with faith-based content that’s fresh, topical and interesting.

A few months ago, I began recording ads for C-Suite for Christ to air on WISN-AM 1130. These ads often strive to grab listeners by referencing current events.

One of them, titled “The White Wave,” generated a lot of positive feedback, according to iHeart Media executives. Take a listen below for yourself:

Is it controversial?

Maybe, given that it touches on politics, and the highly-contentious recent elections. But politics is a subject that station listeners are interested in – so we can’t be afraid to go there!

You can stream Covering the World in Christ with Paul M. Neuberger every Saturday at 5 p.m. CST on WISN-AM 1130. Catch prior episode podcasts here!

Even better, download the iHeart Media app, and listen to great programming from hundreds of stations across the U.S.!

Who knows what new favorite show you’ll discover?

I certainly pray one will be Covering the World in Christ with Paul M. Neuberger

Station managers from other iHeart Media markets across the U.S. are inquiring about carrying the program on their airwaves.

This is how we “Cover the World in Christ” = one market, one station, and one person at a time!

(If you miss an episode of “Covering the World in Christ With Paul M. Neuberger,” don’t worry! Download from its iHeart Media Podcast page, and enjoy!)
