Merry Christ Mass

Hi everyone,

Last night we celebrated the Nativity of Our Lord with a candle lit Vespers service. Today is "Christ Mass". the Eucharistic celebration of the birth of Christ, the Incarnation of the Second Person of the Holy Trinity in the womb of the Virgin Mary, who came to suffer and die on a cross to save us from our sins.  As we join in Communion today, let us take the Infant Jesus into our hearts, for He is Emmanuel, "God with us". Our Christmas season continues for 12 days, until we celebrate Jesus' baptism on the Sunday following Epiphany.

Today is also "Chrismukkah", the rare occasion in which Christmas and Hanukkah are celebrated on the same day (last seen in 2005 and next time in 2035).  This special occurrence reminds us of Jesus' Jewish heritage and the ancestral prophecy of God throughout the Bible.  Merry Christmas to all, and may the Grinch not steal the joy of your Chrismukkah.
