Dear Friend, As we celebrate “dads and grads,” I’m reminded of my grandfather’s 1979 sermon, The Tassel Is Worth the Hassle —a timeless call to pursue meaningful goals despite life’s struggles. Though challenges test our faith and patience, the reward is worth it. Here are three key lessons about life’s hassles: 1. They Keep Us in Suspense (Genesis 12) Uncertainty is uncomfortable but keeps us engaged, like suspense in a good story. Abraham followed God’s call to an unknown land, trusting only His promise. Like him, our challenges grow our faith and lead to lasting reward. 2. They Show Us Glorious Possibility (Genesis 41) Life’s hassles are the soil where possibility grows, shaping our character and revealing new opportunities. Joseph’s story shows how hardships like slavery and imprisonment prepared him to fulfill God’s greater plan. Our struggles today often become the stepping stones to future blessings and God’s glory. 3. They Stimulate Us (Acts 9) Challenges don’t just refine us—they energize us. After meeting Jesus, Paul faced many hardships that fueled his passion to spread the Gospel. Like him, we can embrace struggles as opportunities to grow stronger and follow God’s calling. At Hour of Power, we share the hope of God’s goodness through broadcasts, pastoral care, and outreach, reaching people worldwide. Partner with us by requesting our exclusive The Tassel Is Worth the Hassle Booklet Bundle, which includes The Tassel Is Worth the Hassle booklet, a DVD of my grandfather, Dr. Robert H. Together, we can remind the world that true growth, purpose, and lasting reward come from embracing life’s challenges with faith, knowing that the struggles we face, though difficult, are essential and ultimately worth every hassle. May you be strengthened in every step you take. God loves you and so do I,

Bobby Schuller
