Nearer My God: Leap of Faith, Life of Blessing

Life is full of choices and risks, but Scripture shows that the greatest rewards come when we step out in faith and trust God. Here are four biblical stories where risk led to divine reward beyond expectation:

1. Peter Walking on Water, Risking the Unknown for Jesus (Matthew 14:29)

Peter stepped out of the boat in bold faith, risking the unknown to walk toward Jesus. Though he sank, that moment brought him closer to Christ. Like Peter, when we trust God and take risks, the reward is a deeper connection.

2. Esther Risking Her Life to Save Others (Esther 4:16)

Esther risked her life to save her people by approaching the king in faith. Her courage and trust in God led to deliverance. Like Esther, we are placed in positions for a purpose, and faithful action brings God's reward.

3. The Disciples Leaving Everything to Follow Jesus (Matthew 4:20)

When Jesus called His disciples, they left behind jobs, comfort, and security to follow Him. In return, they received eternal purpose, walked with the Son of God, and helped change the world. God's reward always outweighs the sacrifices we make.

4. The Widow of Zarephath Risking Her Last Meal to Serve the Prophet (1 Kings 17:13-14)

During a severe famine, a widow risked everything by giving her last meal to Elijah. In faith, she gave what little she had, and God provided. Her story shows that trusting God, even in scarcity, opens the door to His miraculous provision.
