God Is Working in Military Marriages
For 17 weeks each summer, wounded veterans and their spouses are invited to Operation Heal Our Patriots at Samaritan Lodge Alaska for a week of marriage training alongside retired military chaplains. Couples participate in Biblically based classes and enjoy exciting, once-in-a-lifetime excursions—fishing, hiking, wildlife viewing—in beautiful Lake Clark National Park and surrounding areas.
Find Out More“Each year we get to see God work powerfully in the lives of these couples as they become a part of the Operation Heal Our Patriots family. God has been faithful to restore and transform many lives and marriages devastated by the wounds of war. I'm grateful that our connection to these men and women doesn't end in Alaska. Our commitment to them is for life.”
— Franklin Graham
After the couples return home, they enter our Family Care program—a year-round, lifetime commitment we make to them. Chaplains stay in contact and help connect them with Christian congregations that are faithful to God’s Word. In addition, couples are invited to local and regional events as well as biennial Operation Heal Our Patriots Reunions. We also provide the opportunity to join Team Patriot, a program that allows them to help U.S. homeowners who have been affected by natural disasters.
Please pray for the 160-plus couples who will be traveling to Alaska for marriage enrichment this summer, and pray also for the nearly 2,000 couples who make up the Operation Heal Our Patriots family.
Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, one will lift up his companion. But woe to him who is alone when he falls, for he has no one to help him up.
Ecclesiastes 4:9-10
