Surprised by God's Grace
When Tripp and Katie Butusov arrived at Samaritan Lodge Alaska, they were ready to work on strengthening their marriage with the help of our Operation Heal Our Patriots team. Yet, they were skeptical and feared that Christianity might be pushed on them.
Katie believed God hated her, as evidenced by a long list of unanswered prayers. Tripp had his own struggles. A dozen army deployments, including several with intense combat, had left him with severe post-traumatic stress that often resulted in unfiltered anger.
Just as their week was beginning, one of our retired military chaplains invited them to talk. Here it comes, they thought. But it wasn't what they imagined.
Read Tripp and Katie's StoryCurrently, the 14th summer season of Operation Heal Our Patriots is underway in Alaska with military couples taking daily classes and wilderness excursions, all aimed at strengthening their relationship with God and each other. Please pray for the many wounded veterans and their spouses who will be attending this year—that their lives will be transformed by the Lord Jesus Christ now and for eternity.
Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, one will lift up his companion. But woe to him who is alone when he falls, for he has no one to help him up.
Ecclesiastes 4:9–10
