FALLEN, BUT YOU CAN GET UP! Remember that LifeCall medical alert commercial from the late 80s? An elderly woman had fallen in her bathroom, pressed her emergency button, and famously said: “I’ve fallen, and I can’t get up!” Her name was Edith Fore, and interestingly, she had experienced a serious fall in real life, and a medical alert device had helped save her life. Have you ever experienced a fall? Maybe not physically, but many of us, including myself, have fallen in different ways. We may have fallen into sickness, financial difficulties, broken relationships, or even sin. But I’ve got some good news! You can call on the name of the Lord! Tell Him you’ve fallen, and He will help you get back up! Psalm 145:14 (NKJV) reminds us: “The LORD upholds all who fall, And raises up all who are bowed down.” Psalm 37:23–24 and Proverbs 24:16 remind us that falling doesn’t mean we have to stay down. The woman said, “I’ve fallen, and I can’t get up!” But as followers of Jesus Christ , we can declare: “I MAY HAVE FALLEN, BUT THANK GOD, I DON’T HAVE TO STAY DOWN!” Peace! Pastor Patrick Ruffin
