Have you ever been lost? You’re heading to a new friend’s house, but despite the help of Google Maps, you just aren’t finding the place. You’re using a new program at the office, but the technology is tricky, and you can’t quite make it work. Maybe your issue is something much bigger. You’re plagued by health issues, financial challenges, or relationship trouble, and you’re feeling stuck in a tough situation. “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.” —Isaiah 43:18–19 God tells us, even in the Old Testament, that He is doing a new thing. A good thing. He is making a way for us in the wilderness. He is giving us streams of living water in times we are in the wastelands. Friend, God’s encouragement for us isn’t just about a dry and dusty wasteland in times of old; He is speaking to each of us right now, in the midst of whatever trials we face, and letting us know that He sees us, He knows our heartbreak, and He is our provider and our source of hope. Reach out to let God know what you need today. Let’s pray. Heavenly Father, we are lost without you. Please help us with the minor stumbling blocks and the major challenges that threaten to overwhelm us. Help us to let go of the past, and to move forward with hope in our hearts. In Jesus' name, amen. |
