Today is Good Friday, the day we remember the death of Jesus on the cross. Revelation 1:18 says, “I am the Living One. I was dead, but look, I am alive forever. I have power over death and hell.” Jesus Christ lived as a man, was crucified and died on the cross, and rose again three days later. This is the most incredible story ever told, and the best part is—it’s true! Death could not hold the Son of God, and our lives are changed not just for today, but for all eternity, because of Jesus. What leader among men can claim to hold sway over the very forces of life and death? None but the Lord! We serve a Heavenly Father whose plan included sacrificing His own Son in order to save us from certain death and give us the gift of eternity alongside Him. This is the very definition of grace. Heavenly Father, thank you for sending Your Son, Jesus, to die on the cross for our salvation. We are so grateful for your love, and for the grace you show us. In Jesus’ name, amen.
