Dear Peter,
SUMMER reminds me of the distinctness of the seasons. Long days, warm afternoons, backyard barbecues, and relaxed routines prompt me to remember the importance of embracing each moment I have here on earth. I love the words of Daniel 2:21, which says, “He changes times and seasons; he deposes kings and raises up others. He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the discerning.”
There’s something about the gift of seasons and how they parallel the ups and downs of life. Summer helps me to understand that no matter how dark or uncertain things look, the sun will shine again and moments of peace will return. If you’re going through a hard time right now, remember that with Jesus, better days are always ahead. He isn’t finished writing your story, and my prayer is that the slow days of this season will warm your heart and bring refreshing to your soul.
Speaking of summer warmth, I was encouraged by a testimony I read recently from Jeff, who wrote to us saying, “Your ministry has been inspiring and a ray of sunshine to our family throughout the years. From the days of your grandfather’s ministry in the impressive Crystal Cathedral through today. You are greatly appreciated by my family. Keep up the good work.
