SUMMER reminds me of the distinctness of the seasons. Long days, warm afternoons, backyard barbecues, and relaxed routines prompt me to remember the importance of embracing each moment I have here on earth. I love the words of Daniel 2:21, which says, “He changes times and seasons; he deposes kings and raises up others. He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the discerning.”
There’s something about the gift of seasons and how they parallel the ups and downs of life. Summer helps me to understand that no matter how dark or uncertain things look, the sun will shine again and moments of peace will return. If you’re going through a hard time right now, remember that with Jesus, better days are always ahead. He isn’t finished writing your story, and my prayer is that the slow days of this season will warm your heart and bring refreshing to your soul.
Speaking of summer warmth, I was encouraged by a testimony I read recently from Jeff, who wrote to us saying, “Your ministry has been inspiring and a ray of sunshine to our family throughout the years. From the days of your grandfather’s ministry in the impressive Crystal Cathedral through today. You are greatly appreciated by my family. Keep up the good work. Keep busy.”Indeed, we are certainly keeping busy, and I hope you’ll be encouraged by these additional stories of impact, AND these exciting ministry happenings:
As I slow down this summer, I’m focusing on a future full of possibilities, so I wrote an article called “Be a Possibility Thinker,” which you can read here.
My amazing wife Hannah shares about God’s miracle-working power here.
Susan Dawson, a dear friend of our church, wrote a special book of love letters and prayers for Ukraine, which you can read about here.
We’re also excited to share about a FREE estate planning resource that provides a wealth of information at your fingertips. Read about it here.
Finally, Peter, I want to invite you to impact the future of Hour of Power today! You are the backbone of our ministry, and as we enter the “summer slump” (which is traditionally a slower time for giving), we need your help in an urgent way! With a donation of just $25 right now, we’ll send you a beautiful stained glass hummingbird sun catcher. Its unique design will serve as a vibrant reminder of the God with whom ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE! You can find out more and give your gift here: www.hourofpower.org/hummingbird
You are sunshine to my life and to our Hour of Power family, and we’re grateful for you. Hannah and I are praying for you in this season and asking Jesus to meet you with His perfect love that makes whatever seems impossible possible!
