Every Job Has Two Salaries
August 12, 2023

"Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” Matthew 6:19-21

There is something we can do today to improve our lives: We can understand that every job, every calling, every organization we ever work with that pays us — pays us twice. The first payment is almost worthless, and that’s the one that’s money. The second payment is how you develop as a person and how you positively impact others; that’s the kind that will carry you for the rest of your life. The only thing you take to Heaven is who you become.

Keep Your Eyes on the Promised Land
This Week's Episode

This week, Pastor Bobby encourages us from 1 Corinthians 10:10-13 and teaches us to keep our eyes on the horizon; to set before ourselves long-term goals that will pull us through the tough times, with his message, “Keep Your Eyes on the Promised Land.” Our interview guest is Jose Rodriguez, the founder and CEO of Rescue a Generation, Inc., which aims to reach struggling students who, due to unfortunate circumstances, find themselves struggling at school or at home. His new book, Rescue a Generation: Reaching the Least, the Last, and Lost, looks at how we can help those who need direction and belonging. Special music is provided by Sean Oliu. Sean was named one of the top influencers in Orange County and performs as both Cantor to his local congregation and to hundreds of thousands of viewers through Club Mickey Mouse. Today, he performs “Good Morning Mercy” and “Stand in Your Love," accompanied by Dr. Marc Riley and the Hour of Power Orchestra. Finally, directed by Dr. Irene Messoloras, the Hour of Power Choir performs “Great Is Thy Faithfulness." They are accompanied by Dr. Philip Hoch on the piano and Dr. Marc Riley and the Hour of Power Orchestra. We hope you'll join us for this hour of faith and inspiration!
