Peter, it's what we're built for.

We Are Built for Compansionship

Lately, I’ve been thinking a lot about how many people are quietly struggling with loneliness.

We live in a world more connected than ever—yet more people than ever are feeling isolated, unseen, and unknown.

We scroll through curated lives online, send quick messages, smile politely in passing—but deep connection, real companionship, feels harder and harder to come by.

It’s something I’ve noticed not just around me, but even within me at times.

Life gets busy. People drift.

And before we know it, we can find ourselves feeling like we’re carrying the weight of life on our own.

But something beautiful happened in our home recently that reminded me of a truth I think we all need to hear: we were never meant to do life alone.

We got a new puppy. And from the moment she came through our front door, something shifted.

My daughter instantly bonded with her, and the two of them have been inseparable ever since.

There’s a joy between them that’s so pure, so honest, it almost catches you off guard.

Seeing my daughter find such comfort and companionship in this little furry friend made me stop and reflect.

Companionship doesn’t always look like a deep conversation or a lifelong friendship.

Sometimes it looks like a wagging tail, a warm cuddle, or just someone who’s there—truly there—with you.

It reminded me that we’re created for relationship. Not just with other people, but with God Himself.

From the very beginning, God saw that “it is not good for man to be alone” (Genesis 2:18). He created us to live in community, to love and be loved, to know and be known.

And Jesus, throughout His time on earth, constantly moved toward people. He surrounded Himself with friends. He ate with them, walked with them, wept with them.

Even in His final hours, He didn’t isolate—He invited others in.

That says something profound: even the Savior of the world didn’t do life alone.

Why should we?

If you’re in a place where you feel disconnected, please know that you’re not alone in that feeling—and you don’t have to stay there. There are people who care.

There are moments of connection waiting to happen, often in unexpected places.

Maybe in a friend.

Maybe in a faith community.

Maybe even in the quiet companionship of a new puppy who loves without question.

And most importantly, there is always connection to be found in Christ. He sees you, knows you, and promises to never leave you. His presence is constant, even when others fall away.

So today, I want to gently encourage you: reach out. Be open. Let someone in.

And if you’re doing okay, look around—someone near you might be silently struggling.

Be their reminder that they’re not alone either.

We were made for each other. We were made for Him.

We were made for more than going through life alone.

From Nashville to the Nations — Join the Movement to Cover the World in Christ

We’re thrilled to invite you to the official launch of the C-Suite for Christ Nashville Chapter on May 8, a milestone moment in a growing global movement of faith-driven leaders.
