Prayer Requests

Hello All,

Our prayers are requested by an old and dear friend.

John and I have been friends since 1944 when we entered Christian Brothers Academy as plebes.

John is having a bout with pneumonia. This is not a disease to dust off lightly as we age. John's pneumonia seems to be hanging around longer than anticipated. He did not tell me when this adventure began and he only mentioned it briefly in an email on another topic. Classic! This tells me it has been lingering. Please pray for him to get better quickly and completely. Pray also for his docs, that they get aggressive and correct in their treatment regime.

John wanted to be a career Marine so he attended Virginia Military Institute, Lexington, VA. He served in Korea and Vietnam and a host of other places where Marines were needed during an illustrious 30 year career . Perhaps the most important assignment he had was to lead the Marine detachment that provided the security for the evacuation of the American Embassy in the capital of Cambodia, Phnom Penh when it was under attack and about to be captured by the Khmer Rouge in April of 1975. This evacuation could be used as a textbook example. In one day all the folks (Americans and loyal Cambodians) who worked at the embassy and wanted to leave Cambodia were evacuated and there were no casualties.

John still swims daily and he is anxious to return to his sport.

Thank you and may the Holy Spirit bless you and keep you all!!

Love, hank
