07/19/2025 – Prologue – Last week we wrote: “In self-indulgent [2 Tim. 4:3-4] America, where everyone claims the right to freedom, but not to virtue.” To what virtues [Col. 3:23] were we inferring. While we scream for our freedoms, we avoid the virtues necessary for freedom to exist. Those forgotten American virtues are real, permanent and ancient: they are honor [Rom.12:10], tradition [I Cor. 11:2; 1 Thess. 5:12] and optimism [Phil.4:6; Rom. 8:25]. Honor enables us to have an ethical foundation and personal standards. Honor allows us to treat others honestly [Luke 6:31; 2 Cor. 8:21], compassionately [1 Peter 3:8] and stops us from individually being won over by lapses of behavior dictated by situational ethics or feelings of victimization. The practice of honor within a society predisposes us to respect the property of others; tell the truth; stand up to the bully; protect the weaker; and end each day in contemplation prayer: This leads me to ask, Are we to use our actions as a moral force for the common good? [Matt. 5,6 & 7]
The third lesson: Via our contentious political or ecclesiastical differences we have set a series of two absolutes against each other: truth and love; justice and compassion; our hearts from our heads, flesh from bone and soft from hard. We did this by politicizing our religion into Left v. Right; liberal v. conservative. The Left is a heart without a head and the Right is a head without a heart. The Right becomes frenzied when the Left uses compassion; the Left becomes apoplectic when the Right uses the word truth. The politicalization of these words have gotten us into some huge persecutions and wars. In the process of political categorizations, we now use the world’s categories to evaluate the church, instead of using the churches’ categoriesto evaluate the world. However, it is extraordinarily difficult to fully deceive the masses. Nor can one fool a farmer as easily as one can fool a scholar. Unfortunately, the numbers have flipped: at one time there were ten farmers for every scholar. We now have ten scholars for every farmer. Or even a greater danger is that eventually every American citizen will be a lawyer. And all will be teachers.
In today’s society there are three principal sets of teachers (mind-molders): formal education (scholars); informal education (entertainment and journalism – the media). Americans to satiate their appetites will wait in long lines to get to these troughs. We also chase these mind-molders because there are fewer farmers. However, for many reasons the number of farmers is beginning to increase because more people are desirous of wanting tasteful, chemical free food and a desire to leave the regimentation of modern urban life. Folks realize they can begin to grow edible ‘stuff’ on really small plots of land. This changes their entire outlook of the world. It is important to note that Satan has to get the teachers first- then the students. That task is nearly complete. Moloch is back roaming Western civilization. For example, only 3% of the media mind-molders say they support any limitations on abortions, meanwhile 80% of the general population want limitations. Typically, teachers are more advanced than their students. In Hitler’s holocaust the willingness to torture prisoners was directly proportional to a person’s level of education. In the American holocaust, participation shares the same educational character. The problem is many Americans do not pay much attention to the study of philosophy or more importantly – God. Some will let down their guard to the indoctrination agenda. Shucks, many are generally incap-able of even putting up a guard. This is because we are experiencing the great con game in our beloved universities; most faculties want to be avant-garde and politically correct by allowing deconstructionism to dominate their disciplines. (Deconstructionism – the analytic examination of something, in order to reveal its inadequacies.) For some people, deconstructionism means losing their faith all together – becoming atheists, agnostics, or spiritual, but not religious nones. For others, deconstructionism means believing in Jesus, but struggling with how religious institutions have failed. With all the talk of deconstructionism, one problem is that very few people mean precisely the same thing when using the word. (Examples: law, literature, philosophy, western values, reason v. revelation). Many deconstructionists claim that truth is nothing more than the hypocritical face of power. It is Satan’s epistemology, which can be summed by three actions: Dim the lights (enhance darkness); Obfuscate (seems like, but not truthful); Appeal to passion (who needs reason). Epistemology – the study of the nature, origin, and limits of human understanding.
The fourth lesson: To cover the battlefield with peace banners, to deny that a spiritual war engulfs us. This follows from the previous lesson, above, the Big Lie of relativism. These folks rely on the fact that they espouse that there are no real absolutes, therefore there can be no real war. If we reject the idea that there is no evil worth fighting against or that there is no good worth fighting for, then we reject the notion of fighting and the idea that spiritual warfare exists. To whom does this advantage adhere? Militarily speaking, “Forewarned is forearmed,” The corollary is, “Unwarned is unarmed”. The former is the voice of the hawk, the latter the voice of the dove. In combat, which is victorious?
The fifth lesson is to study the most explosively successful strategy of Satan. Sex! It is Satan’s desire to distort the role of sex, God’s good creation. More explicitly our misuse and misunder-standing of Sex! Peter Kreeft, PhD, labels it: “Satan’s Spectacularly Seven-Step Sexual Strategy. Seven S’s – the satanically sacred, serpentine letter.” As we explore this topic, keep asking how do humans gain an advantage? Our initial understanding of Satan is that he is not all powerful, the power remains with God. Our second understanding is that Satan is the father of deceit, the father of lies. Let us explore the seven steps. One, Satan’s summum bonum, ultimate end, is to win souls for hell. (Remember, hell as a destination for humans is a matter of choice.) In matters sexual we most often fail to remember that Satan’s battle is to win souls for hell. We may forget this – Satan does not – advantage Satan. Two, The most powerful method to achieve One above is to corrupt society. This is easier in a society composed of uninformed conformists. This means the people are other directed, (see comments about university faculties above) and interestingly many of these other-directed folks consider themselves to be non-conformists. A good society is a society that makes it easy to be good. The corollary is that a bad society makes it easy to be bad. Has there ever been a society (Post Industrial Western) that has made it as easy and provides so many opportunities to be bad. Satan agrees – advantage Satan. Three, the most powerful means to destroy a society is to destroy the family, the society’s basic building block. Why? The family is the only institution in which most folks learn the lesson of unselfish love. Satan would say this is the most dangerous lesson folks can learn. It is within the family that a child learns that they are loved not for doing, not for performing, but for simply being. This is the reason Satan loves abortion – advantage Satan. Four, The family is destroyed by destroying its foundation, a stable marriage – advantage Satan. Five, marriage is destroyed by loosening its glue, sexual fidelity – advantage Satan. Six, sexual fidelity is destroyed by the sexual revolution – advantage Satan. And seven, The sexual revolution is propagated by the media, see our mind-molders comments. These groups are massively in Satan’s camp. Remember the level of sexual immorality undulates over generations. When was the last time that you saw a commercially made movie that did not have a totally gratuitous sex scene? Advantage Satan. Satan has claimed victory not by a frontal assault on the heart, but capturing the heart by first capturing the hormones and human pride. AMEN.
