Cleansing Confession

Cleansing Confession Sharing our struggles and sins with another human being is difficult. This kind of vulnerability destroys our pride—and it shows us how much we need Jesus and the church. Yet Scripture tells us there is power in confession and prayer. Jesus speaks about making the church spotless and blameless for His glory and our good. As members of this body, we get to take part in this process. When we confess our struggles and pray with each other, God is always present and always brings us encouragement. He is glorified as we humble ourselves and admit we need Him. When we are honest, we typically find other people in the church have similar experiences, and they can share how they dealt with particular struggles. This is the power of Christ-centered community! When we confess our sins to each other and humbly ask for prayer, we outwardly express our need to live for Jesus with the help of brothers and sisters. God never meant for us to walk alone. As we confess to each other and pray with each other, God restores us so that we can live a life that glorifies Him.
