Could you love GOD better?
Could you love GOD better?
“You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. A second is EQUALLY important: Love your neighbor as yourself.” (Matthew 22:37-39 NLT)
Today, let’s talk about whether it’s even possible to love God better. What does “loving” really mean?
Let me get straight to the point: To love means to do good.
To love God means, among other things, to do good to God.
But can you actually do good to God? 🤔He doesn’t need anything from us—He is perfect and complete.
And yet Jesus made it very clear that our love for God can become beautifully practical. He said:
“Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.” (Matthew 25:40)
In other words: Doing good to people = doing good to God. 💟
When I encourage someone…
When I give my time…
When I open my front door, even though I wanted to watch a movie…
When I listen, even though my own heart feels heavy…
When I show love, even while longing for a hug myself…
…THEN I am doing good to God. 🤩
And even this is true: when you treat yourself with kindness instead of tearing yourself down, you reflect something of God’s love back to Him!
✨ Miracle Thought of the Day: When we do good to others—and to ourselves—we have done good to HIM.
So let me ask you: Where and how could you “do good” to God today?
You are a miracle!
