Uncomfortable Love
Uncomfortable Love
Loving people is not always easy. It’s frustrating to love people who do not treat you with the same kindness that you give them. However, we are not called to treat others like they may treat us; we’re supposed to do things differently from the crowd, just like Jesus did.
Who are we to say who deserves love and who doesn’t? Jesus came down to a broken world, suffered ridicule and persecution, and was betrayed and killed by the very people He came to save. He could have said that we absolutely didn’t deserve His love because nothing is truer, but His love was greater! He was nailed to that cross to give us an example of perfect love.
Loving someone often means sacrificing, serving, and giving up your comfort for their good. Jesus did that in the extreme, and we can follow His example in our small ways. We get the opportunity to show His love in every conversation, every action, and every moment we have with people around us. It may seem like a challenge in the moment, but the result of our love will always bring light. Remember today: loving Jesus means loving people!
