Confounding Love
Confounding Love
God lives in us, and His presence is especially evident when we love each other, even when it inconveniences us or we’d rather do something else. Thankfully, God showed us how to love, and His Spirit gives us the power and strength to show love to others, especially when it’s hard.
God’s selfless love has always confused our broken world, a world that holds selfishness and greed as the standard. When we have God’s love in our hearts, its presence immediately sets us apart from others because we embody the selflessness God showed to us. God’s love inspires us to forgive others, so grudges disappear. It inspires us to give to those who have none, so poverty shrinks. Regardless of whether people believe in God, God’s love moves us to hold the hands of believers and nonbelievers alike, so dissentions disintegrate, and we become one body.
When we allow God to show His love through us, we are in the world but not of it. Rely on God today to fill you with His love, and ask for opportunities to show it in ways that make the world wonder.
