Proclaim Glad Tidings
Proclaim Glad Tidings
Today’s Scripture can be particularly challenging for those of us who are quiet about our faith. We may believe that lifestyles or actions will manifest our faith adequately, but the result is that the word Jesus hardly leaves our lips. Without speaking the name of Jesus, praying becomes difficult, the Bible starts to seem like no more than a textbook to be memorized, and church turns into something as laborious as studying Hebrew grammar. And relating to fellow believers, though it’s our calling, can become the most difficult of tasks.
Like the disciples, the men who saw Jesus work and talked with Him every day, we ask each other, “Who is this? Even the wind and the waves obey him!” (Mark 4:41). The answer is clear: Jesus is the Savior, though maybe we have become so familiarized with Him that we forget what that means for others. So open your mouth today and talk about Jesus. Whether it’s with someone from church, a family member, or a friend—with someone safe or someone new—don’t restrain your lips. The more you talk about His lovingkindness, the more infectious it will be.
