Saved by Grace
Saved by Grace
If salvation depended on me, I’d be in trouble. Maybe you would too.
The Bible says, “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God.” (Ephesians 2:8, NIV). Grace means undeserved favor. It means I don’t earn it. I don’t achieve it. I don’t qualify for it. God simply gives it.
I remember a season in my life when I was overwhelmed and drowning under responsibility. My friend John saw the condition of my life, stepped in, and paid a huge price in order to help me. He actually worked at the church, as my “right hand,” for a yearly salary of one American dollar.
I am still humbled by this thought. Someone stepped in and carried a load I couldn’t carry. I didn’t deserve that kind of generosity, but John offered it anyway. That’s grace. And that’s what Jesus did for us—on a cosmic scale.
Grace flows from the cross. Jesus took what I deserved so I could receive what I didn’t deserve. He absorbed the penalty of my sin so I could experience freedom and life in exchange for His life.
Grace dismantles pride. I can’t boast. I can’t take credit. There is nothing I can do to be good enough to be “saved.” No, I can only receive the gift that Jesus offers and paid for.
The miracle of today is God’s grace, and it’s available to you, right now.
Let’s pray together. Father, thank You for grace.
Thank You that my salvation doesn’t rest on my performance but on Your kindness. Help me to live in the freedom of grace today. Strip away my pride and teach me to receive what You freely give. Amen.
You are a miracle!
