God Is With Us in the Scrutiny
God Is With Us in the Scrutiny
Can we go back to Christmas in May?
Joseph faced something incredibly difficult: the judgment of other people.
When Mary became pregnant before their marriage, the community would have immediately assumed the worst. Rumors spread quickly in small towns, and Joseph suddenly found himself in the center of a situation that could damage his reputation and future.
Yet the Bible describes Joseph with one simple word: righteous.
“Because Joseph, her husband, was faithful to the law, and yet did not want to expose her to public disgrace, he had in mind to divorce her quietly.” (Matthew 1:19, NIV)
Joseph chose compassion instead of condemnation.
There will always be moments in life when people misunderstand us. Sometimes our faith will be questioned. Sometimes our decisions will be criticized.
Living faithfully doesn’t guarantee that everyone will approve of us.
But Joseph shows us something important: our goal is not to please everyone around us—our goal is to remain faithful to God.
When we know that God is with us, we don’t need to live in fear of human opinion.
The world is watching how followers of Jesus respond during pressure-filled moments. Do we respond with bitterness? Or do we respond with grace?
Joseph chose integrity in the face of scrutiny, and God honored that choice.
If you’re feeling the pressure of criticism or misunderstanding right now, remember this: God sees your heart even when others don’t understand your motives.
Your faithfulness matters more than public approval. God is with you even when others are watching closely.
God, help me remain faithful when I feel misunderstood or judged. Give me the strength to live with integrity and the courage to trust that You see my heart. Help me respond to others with grace just as Joseph did. Amen.
You are a miracle!
