The Crossroads I Face Every Day
The Crossroads I Face Every Day
I find that life rarely presents me with dramatic, one-time decisions that define everything. Instead, I live in a steady rhythm of small crossroads—moments where I must choose between obedience and independence, trust and control, surrender and self-direction.
Each morning, I wake up and step into a day where God is already speaking. The question is whether I am listening. I am learning that obedience is not just about action—it is about posture. It is about aligning my heart with God’s voice before I align my plans with my own understanding.
Scripture reminds me of the urgency of response: “Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts…” (Hebrews 3:15, NIV)
That word “today” confronts my tendency to delay, to rationalize, or to wait for a more convenient moment. But obedience delayed is often obedience denied.
When I postpone what God is prompting, I subtly shift from trust in Him to trust in myself.
I’ve noticed that the longer I linger in disobedience—even in small ways—the easier it becomes to justify it. Over time, my heart can become less responsive, not because God has stopped speaking, but because I have stopped listening with urgency. This is why daily surrender matters. It keeps my heart soft and responsive.
Today, I am reminded that obedience is not a burden—it is a response to relationship.
God is not asking me to obey to earn His love; He invites me to obey because I already have it. My obedience becomes an expression of trust, a visible reflection of an invisible relationship.
So today, I choose to pause, listen, and respond. Not perfectly, but sincerely. Not out of fear, but out of love.
Each moment is another opportunity to say yes to God’s leading. Let’s say “yes” to God together! Let’s pray:
Lord, help me to recognize Your voice today and respond without delay. Keep my heart soft, my spirit willing, and my mind attentive to Your direction. Teach me to walk in obedience not out of obligation, but out of love and trust in who You are. Strengthen me to choose Your will in both small and significant decisions. In the name of Jesus, Amen.
Never forget, my friend,
You are a miracle!
