I offer You my sleep and all the moments of this night. I place myself and all my loved ones, wherever they may be, in Your sacred side and under the mantle of Our Blessed Mother. Let Your holy angels stand watch and keep us in peace. Amen. Quote of the Night “Love all in God and for God, and all will be well.” —St. Théodore Guérin Today's Meditation Now the whole offer which Christianity makes is this: that we can, if we let God have His way, come to share in the life of Christ. If we do, we shall then be sharing a life which was begotten, not made, which always has existed and always will exist. Christ is the Son of God. If we share in this kind of life we also shall be sons of God. We shall love the Father as He does and the Holy Ghost will arise in us. He came to this world and became a man in order to spread to other men the kind of life He has -- by what I call 'good infection'. Every Christian is to become a little Christ. The whole purpose of becoming a Christian is simply nothing else. —C.S. Lewis, P. 49 An excerpt from A Year with C.S. Lewis-Daily Readings from His Classic Works SHOP NOW A Year with C.S. It’s very simple, and it’s designed to help us identify our sins and weaknesses so that we can improve and grow stronger in the spiritual life, while providing an excellent ongoing preparation for regular Confession. It consists of taking a few minutes at the end of the day to prayerfully review our actions in the light of God’s commandments, followed by the Act of Contrition. Reflect Reflect on the victories and losses Review your actions, words, and thoughts today. Did you actively guard yourself against temptation? Where did sin creep in? In what moments did you practice virtue and moral courage? Were you attuned to the Holy Spirit's promptings today? Where did you feel His inspiration? Ask Him for the graces necessary to follow His Will more purposefully tomorrow. Gratitude Practice Gratitude Where did you feel His loving gaze upon you today? What people or moments helped you see God in your life? Thank God for all these moments! Ask Him to help you recognize His blessings and providence tomorrow. Recommit Renew your Christian commitment Thank God for the gift of His Son Jesus and our call to be His disciples. Write down an intention for your day tomorrow, and ask Our Lord for His help in carrying it out. Pray a Hail Mary, Guardian Angel prayer, or another beloved prayer. Act of Contrition O my God, I am heartily sorry for having offended Thee, and I detest all my sins because of Thy just punishments, but most of all because they offend Thee, my God, Who art all good and deserving of all my love. I firmly resolve with the help of Thy grace to sin no more and to avoid the near occasions of sin. Amen. Rest with God He determines the number of the stars, He gives to all of them their names.
