“I'm Overwhelmed by Happiness”
Malik, pregnant with her first child, was forced to flee to the city of Gedaref after conflict broke out around Sudan. She gave birth there in the Samaritan's Purse Emergency Field Hospital, which opened on Christmas Day to treat displaced women like her. Since opening, over 400 infants have been born at our medical facility. “I'm overwhelmed by happiness,” Malik said, after seeing her newborn daughter.
