Are you already deciding like a mature Christ?
Are you already deciding like a mature Christ?
After recently treating myself to a restorative week of vacation, returning to reality hit me harder than expected.
The moment I set foot back into everyday life, I realized just how intense and overwhelming the transition can be—how intense and overwhelming life itself can feel.
These days, we often talk about “work-life balance,” but let’s be honest—it’s not always that easy.
For example, for my brother and sister-in-law, the same vacation probably didn’t feel nearly as relaxing as it did for me—they had two little kids who required their full attention…
And maybe you know this feeling all too well. That’s why I want to share what this vacation taught me, and how it connects to what the Bible challenges us with: “...this will continue until we all come to such unity in our faith and knowledge of God’s Son that we will be mature in the Lord…” (Ephesians 4:13,
The term mature refers to the ability to think independently and make responsible, thoughtful decisions.
Your decisions—independent of emotions or circumstances—are far more important than you probably realize. That’s why Paul encourages us: “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters.” (Colossians 3:23-24, NIV)
And in Proverbs we read: “Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.” (Proverbs 3:6, NLT)
This really struck me. You don’t need deliberate pauses to find rest—you need a conscious awareness of who you are living for.
When you realize that everything you do—everything—is for Him, it becomes much easier to approach life with joy and from His peace.
Recognizing who we’re living for each day, motivates us to walk in His way!
No, you don’t need to wait for the next vacation. You can place your hope in God.
Your choice—independent of circumstances and emotions—is needed today. I encourage you: don’t be swayed, but make your decisions like a mature Christian!
You are a miracle!
