Trust and Contentment Trust. It is a word we are familiar with and hear so often that we may have become numb to it. It’s repeated throughout Scripture and talked about often in Christian communities. But what does it really mean to “trust in the Lord” day in and day out? Trust is wholehearted reliance and dependence—the belief that God will always come through for us. When we fully trust God, we don’t have to worry about the future. Trust frees us from fear and allows us to surrender our desire for control and our need to take matters into our own hands. It gives us the freedom to faithfully serve wherever He places us. Our trust in God grows when we choose to find satisfaction only in Him. When we delight in Him, we see more of who He is, and our hearts are filled with wonder. As we come to know Him and His promises, our natural response is to trust Him! It’s a beautiful cycle. Let’s choose to find all joy and contentment in Jesus, rather than the things of this world. When we do, the desires of our hearts become the same as His, and He is glorified!
